My aim is to help people just like you to lead happier, healthier and more balanced lives free from anxiety, phobias and low confidence.
Do you feel as if there is a debilitating factor or habit that's holding you back in life? You're not alone, in fact plenty of people face issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety and even destructive negative thinking, all of which can prevent you from realising your ambitions. This is where I can help.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is the combination/integration of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with Clinical Hypnosis. It can tackle both destructive, ineffective behaviour and unhelpful, negative thinking patterns. After a few effective sessions of Cognitive Hypnotherapy with me, you can expect to feel energised and empowered. Not only this, but you will walk away from the treatment with a new inspired self-confidence. You'll even have your very own 'toolbox' equipped with skills that will enable to relax and practice self-hypnosis for your continued wellbeing.
The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking - Albert Einstein
Putting your needs first
Every single client is different and you will no doubt have your own set of unique requirements. That's why I use my experience with different therapeutic techniques such as hypnotherapy, CBT, applied relaxation, mindfulness and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, to tailor a programme to suit your individual needs.
It's by tailoring every session to you, that we are able to work towards the long-lasting changes you desire. A lot of hypnotherapists will use the same methods and techniques on a range of their clients; unlike them, I have no set scripts and my sole aim is to ensure you get the most out of every session.
Is it safe?
Yes, Hypnotherapy is a safe, fast and effective therapeutic process, it has been approved by the British Medical Association (BMA) and the British Medical Journal (BMJ) as well as being supported by the National Health Service (NHS), for being a safe complimentary therapy that can help with a wide variety of problems.
I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) which implements the highest standards of training and professional ethics among all of its members. I also gained a diploma from the UK College of Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy, which is the only recognised hypnotherapy qualification for CPD by the British Psychological Society.

Anxiety is natural and essential to ensure we live a long and balanced life. It is simply our unconscious mind alerting us to perceived threats and danger. Prolonged or severe anxiety however, is unhealthy and can affect the way we respond or function in daily areas of our life. Living in a city, such as London, with high levels of noise pollution, causes repeated surges of the stress hormone cortisol, leaving many of us feeling drained and overwhelmed. This sense filters into other areas of our life, which can result in us feeling excessively anxious in certain situations. Anxiety is one of the most common causes stopping us from achieving our goals.
- Do you have thoughts that are stuck on repeat over something which causes you stress?
- Is your sleep disrupted by your thinking on overdrive?
- Do you spend excessive time in the past or future?
If the answer to any of those questions is yes, then there's a strong chance you could be suffering from anxiety. With Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, however, you can combat anxiety because it retrains the way your mind reacts to certain perceived threats. By using a complementary blend of techniques, including relaxation and creative visualisation. Together, we will reframe the way in which you view anxiety and certain situations, meaning you can go out in to the world feeling confident, self-assured and free of restraints. Contact me.
Destructive Thought Patterns
Destructive thought patterns can be extremely detrimental and lead to us not living in the current moment. We all tell ourselves stories everyday, and it is these thoughts that shape the reality we live in. Healthy or neutral thoughts provide us with energy, confidence and good spirits. Negative thinking on the other hand can feel like a constant attack or abuse. It can affect our work, relationships and social enjoyment.
If that sounds like something you are going through, help is at hand. There are various tools and skills that can be acquired to address the vicious cycle of thinking. Together we will consider all of the options, to find the right fit for you. You will learn how to quickly identify unhelpful patterns of thinking and develop positive coping statements to ensure they no longer bother you. We will also explore acceptance theories relating to your thoughts and other areas of life; whereby allowing yourself the freedom of emotion you are no longer a prisoner to the ideas. Contact me.
Exams are a nervous occasions for most people, but excessive nerves can lead to us failing to function. Whether the nerves are causing you to lose sleep, you're struggling with a fear of failure, or you're suffering from procrastination, we can successfully address your nerves with hypnosis.
We will explore which aspects give you concern, and together we'll work towards building your confidence and self-belief. Using a variety of techniques, including relaxation methods, creative visualisation and focus enhancers, I can help you achieve academic success.
Fears and Phobias
Do you have an irrational fear that is getting in the way of your life? Perhaps work requires you to fly for international business meetings? Perhaps you want to visit Australia but you can’t handle spiders? Want to skydive over the Namibian Desert but have a fear of heights? Whatever it may be, hypnosis can help you conquer it.
Fears can be a good thing, they are a natural animalistic response and are why the human species has evolved so successfully. Unfounded fears however, which are planted in our minds through society or experience, can seriously hold us back in life. If you're suffering from an unfounded fear or phobia, then hypnotherapy treatment has been proven to help by scientific research. With cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, we can rewire your current habitual response to something more neutral or even positive, both physically and mentally. Contact me.
Do you have an unconscious habit that you would like to overcome? Perhaps it makes you look unprofessional or causes you embarrassment. Unhelpful habits are usually associated with lowering stress levels or relieving boredom. Conditioned responses can be easy to acquire, but the good news is, they are simple to reverse.
Clinical research shows that on average there is a '90% reduction of the habit from just after the first 2-hour session.' This increases to a '97% reduction over the course of one month.' (Nunn & Azrin, 1977)
Through applied relaxation and habit reversal training we will produce an effective treatment plan tailored specifically to your habits. You will learn to become aware of the trigger situation and recognise the emotions that precede the habit so that you are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to stop it. The treatment also includes relapse prevention so that you don’t fall into bad habits a few years down the line. Contact me.
Sometimes you may feel that you are just unable to relax completely, in which case, hypnotherapy can certainly help.
The treatment begins with my voice guiding you through progressive body relaxations, giving you a deep sense of rest and calm. We will then work towards resting your muscles, residual tension and even your mind. Research shows that it is next to impossible to have thoughts while you are completely at ease and clients are constantly amazed at just how relaxed they can actually be. Lastly, I will teach you how to relax in a wide variety of situations, enabling you to take the skills learned in the therapy room out into the wider world. Contact me.
It is natural for humans to have mood swings. Without the lows, how could we appreciate the highs? If you feel stuck in repeated cycles of despondent thinking, however, cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy could benefit you.
Together, we will explore the roots of your emotions as well as areas of your life which are affected by them. From here we will be able to draw upon various techniques to change your thoughts and behaviour so that you are no longer weighed down by the natural ebb and flow of your mood. Contact me.
Often, it is society’s interpretation of ‘confidence’ that leads people to feel insecure. If you feel that you are unable to engage fully with the world around you due to a lack of confidence, then I would strongly recommend hypnotherapy as a treatment plan.
Ego strengthening is a core part of hypnotherapy. Almost any issue can initially be addressed by building confidence in your abilities to achieve your goals. Together I will help you reframe your perception of failure and what it means to have low confidence. The sessions will also explore your current behavioural and thought patterns and see how they can be replaced with more successful solutions guiding you in the right direction to achieve a confident, glowing, new you.
This is not just a treatment plan for people who are shy or insecure, it is for anyone who feels they may have suffered a setback. With the treatment, we can work together to direct you back on course. Just imagine how it would feel to live your life feeling completely at ease with who you are and your abilities. Don’t let low confidence hold you back any longer. Contact me.
Social anxiety can affect so many areas of our life, from relationships to social activity and work. Put simply, it can stop us leading the life we want.
- Do you often leave an event because you have found it too uncomfortable?
- Do you find yourself thinking that you are boring?
- Are you constantly worrying what others may think of you?
- Do you shy away from people with perceived authority?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, you may be suffering from social anxiety, which can be overcome with cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy. We will explore the various areas of your life which are inhibited due to social anxiety. We'll also consider how your thoughts and behaviour contribute to or even exacerbate the cause. Once we have a greater understanding and insight into the reasons behind your social anxiety, we can plan an effective treatment plan to have you approach life in a confident, self-assured and relaxed way.
With a strong focus on assertiveness training as well as a blend of other complementary techniques, you will no longer feel the need to hide in the background and will feel more relaxed and at ease when holding conversations. Overcoming social anxiety often leads to an improved general wellbeing and motivation to achieve future goals. Contact me.
Social Media Anxiety
Social media is everywhere and it is an incredibly useful tool that many people rely upon. It can, however, cause a great deal of anxiety, especially among young people and teenagers who are struggling.
Social media anxiety can present itself in a number of ways, whether it's through constantly checking your phone for messages, taking countless photos and uploading them to Instagram straight away, always having your phone to hand or suffering from a fear of missing out (FOMO). Due to the rise of social media, anxiety surrounding it is on the increase, affecting everyone from young teenagers to adults. If you feel a constant pressure to let your friends and the world know that you have been somewhere, that you're wearing something new, you've been eating brunch at the new café, then hypnotherapy is an incredibly effective approach.
Using creative visualisation and a blend of complementary cognitive and behavioural techniques, we will explore together what is the at the core of the problem. We will reframe the way in which you feel compelled to approach social media and rediscover a healthy balance which does not control your life. You may even find that through this process, other areas in your life, such as relationships, work and personal interests improve with your new attitude. Contact me.
Stress is an essential part of human nature. It is the reason our species evolved so successfully. In the modern world, however, the nervous system is plagued by hundreds of stress stimuli, which actually have no real danger attached.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy can help you to reassess your stress stimuli so that you can reproach perceived harmful situations with a healthy, clear mind. We will draw upon creative visualisation techniques to help you learn how to reframe your conception of stress, as well as learning how to handle it in daily situations.
You may well find that by learning to perform effectively in stressful situations often leads to an improved general well-being and gives you added motivation to achieve your future goals. Contact me.
